Richard Gendron: Singer – Songwriter – Musician

I was born and raised in the city of Vancouver in the 60’s and the youngest of seven children.  From listening to 45’s  with my father and Irish music with my mother to the numerous parties, music was always a part of my life during my childhood.  My earliest recollection to music is at 5 years old dancing with two of my sisters to the Supremes. What really influenced me to be a musician was my oldest brother who was listening to rock music such as Elvis and the Rolling Stones. The later whom I saw at a live concert in 1972.  From those earlier moments in life, I knew music was to be my life and I spent every moment I can going from venue to venue soaking it all in.  Other than the Rolling Stones, other musicians who influenced me were the Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Bob Dylan, Jeff Beck, Albert Collins, Jimi Hendrix and as well Motown great, Stevie Wonder.

Now with every opportunity I get, I strap on my guitar and go on stage do covers of some of my favorite singers and bands such as The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelins, The Beatles and Bob Dylan.  I’m also working writing some original music. My style  is mostly rock and country but I also stray into Motown classics and blues.  I have performed around Vancouver and surrounding areas in BC as a solo act, duo and a band.
